The Vedic Para-Yoga is a special Vedic-based Yoga system that acts as an Integral Yoga, combining ideas from Sri Aurobindo, Advaita Vedanta, Arya Samaj and Ayurveda.
Vaidik Para-Yoga can be termed as the
Yoga of the Vedas.
Para-Yoga means "Transcendental Yoga", since it aims to elevate the mind to the highest level of the Causal body and truly transform the individual on all levels. It integrates the Ayurvedic Yoga, the Arya Samaj Vedic Yoga as well asT antrika Shakta Yoga of the Goddess, including several others. It uses the Shakti (Power) of the Goddess in her 10 Manifestations as powers of Yoga to transform the mind-body complex and also explains their secret origin in the deities of the symbolic Rig Veda, the oldest of Hindu texts.
This Yoga was developed by Veda Kovid, Durgadas for the benefit of all, so that they may progess with specific Vedic-based daily sadhanas(spiritual practices) and Yoga kriyas (Yoga practices) designed to awaken the vivekagni or Fire of Discrimination in people, leading to eventual higher states of Consciousness and harmony in Lifestyle. Only through awakening ourviveka, our discrimination, can we truly go beyond all psychological and thus physical issues.
Para-Yoga has it's own unique Vedantic (Hindu Metaphysical) Philosophy as well as an elaborate system of Gunas, the modes inherit in nature, as also 100 Levels of the Mind, all drawing from the oldest of the Vedic texts, the Rig Veda, the oldest text of mankind, in fact, going back some 10,000 years or more!
In addition, Durgadas also details the Cosmological system as per traditional Vedanta and Samkhya sciences of Hinduism in a new light, breaking them down and showing the original Vedic inter-dimensions of these, as well as several layers of Consciousness in each of the physical, subtle and causal bodies and the 21 major Chakras rather than dealing with the limiting 7 Chakras of the Pop-Yoga today - of which he states are dealing only with the lower emotional (or Vital) and physical representation of them, no a true sense of 'awakening' as in traditional Yoga systems itself!
The purpose of this Yoga, as followingThe Mother's (Mira Alfassa, the great devotee of Yogi Sri Aurobindo) guidance is that with the great Yogi, Rishi or Seer of Modern India - Sri Aurobindo's Yoga, is that his philosophy was there in his several teachings of his Integral Yoga, but the actual guidelines and finer points were not expanded, nor were the sadhanas or spiritual practices given or detailed.
Since Sri Aurobindo died in 1950, they also need to be updated relevant to the current humanity, evolution and changes in retrospect also, as well as making it truly Integral by combining all aspects of traditional Yoga. For example, when we are living, there are limitations which one can see more clearly in the higher Causal or Self-worlds, if not directly. This is why discussions and correlations on Advaita (Hindu non-dualistic theism) form a major part of the discussions, as this doctrine is itself often misunderstood!
Such views and points are Integral parts of Durgadas's teaching in this Yoga to all new practitioners of the Vedic Para-Yoga for this reason.
Specific diet and lifestyle as per the individual is also employed in traditionalYoga, once again, not a "one diet for all" basis, as also specific lifestyle changes. Various Yoga postures (asanas) and breathing techniques (pranayamas) as well as mantras are not all good for one and all - they have their own psycho-physical effects that can actually create health problems if not tailored to the individual, such as this Yoga aims at.
The Vedic Para-Yoga Program is developed by Veda Kovid and Yoga and Ayurveda Teacher Durgadas as a way to integrate the Vedic and deeper inner Yogic Teachings in a more practical and spiritual manner, and requires personal study with him and his works. It introduces the student to the deeper works of Sri Aurobindo, The Mother and Sri Ramana Maharishi and also correlates their works, and brings also in the deeper application of Ayurvedic Yoga, Vedic Astrology as well as other aspects into the fold, such as the Yoga of the Rig Veda.
It contains many deeper teachings of the Goddess, her Vedic connections, as well as important insights by Durgadas, such as the 100 Levels of the Mind and the Para-Chakras or Transcendental Chakras, forming a part of the 21 classical chakras in Yoga, and also their Vedic deities and connections or names.
In addition, Durgadas shares his vision for the future humanity by the Yogic Formation of the Future Man.
Special Vedic and later special Tantric mantras, some revealed to Durgadas as also sadhanas or spiritual practices are taught here, for transformation.
The syllabus follows ones own degree of advancement in Yoga itself and also the study of our books.
